Governor pays for students’ fees

 Western Governor, Ati Wobiro is expected to present K1,008,798 to Western students in higher institutions to help them pay their tuition fees. 

Wobiro revealed that yesterday when presenting a cheque of K843, 024 to Western students attending the University of Papua New Guinea.

He said the Fly River provincial government was committed to educating its young people.

“Any province that does not assist young people will continue to lack behind in development,” he said.

 I am committed in helping young people in Western in acquiring those skills that is required so that one day they will come back and develop the province,” he said.  

He said with the OK Tedi Mine the province needed skilled human resources to take it forward. 

He challenged the students to make use of the money by doing their best in achieving the best result.

“I would want to see you set the highest goals possible as the future of Western  is on your shoulders.

He urged them to concentrate on their studies as the government had spent so much money on them. 

Students expressed gratitude to the governor for assisting them and for relieving their parent’s burdens of paying their tuition fees.
