TAMBUL-Nebilyer has been described as a model district in the country by Western Highlands Governor Paias Wingti.
Wingti said the district was the only one in the country that had a teacher to student ratio of 1:40 or less.
He said this on Friday at Tambul station during the launch of the district’s integrated development plan.
“Tambul-Nebilyer implements the policy of the provincial government and moves ahead in terms of development.”
Wingti said in terms of education, there were 35 to 40 students in a class.
He said the district had 11 high and secondary schools, catering for students coming from primary schools.
He said there was no overcrowding in classrooms as experienced by other schools in other districts and provinces.
“Local MP Win Bakri Daki and his team are putting money into education, roads and bridges in the province.”
Meanwhile, Wingti commended Marape for his vision and strong statements in Parliament to rescue the country.
“The prime minister is like a driver and sets destination as to how the country will move,” he said.
Wingti, a former prime minister, said a man without vision could not lead the country.
He said it was pleasing to see Marape set a course for the country’s development and prosperity.
