A TOTAL of 61 East New Britain students from the University of Technology in Lae, Morobe province were repatriated to their homes last week.
Governor and Kokopo MP Ereman ToBaining Jnr announced over the weekend that the students were now back in the province awaiting the next course of action by the national government on the situation at the institution.
He said this would now ease the worries of parents and leaders over the safety of their children.
He said the 61 students were those that had met with officers of the ENB provincial administration sent to Lae to organise for their travel back home.
The governor believed there could be more students but they did not make themselves known to the officers who were in Lae last week to mobilise students from ENB.
He said beginning last Wednesday (June 27), 17 students travelled to Tokua through Hoskins, 11 came through Port Moresby and the remaining students arrived in the province on Saturday.
