SOUTHERN Highlands Governor William Powi plans to introduce Click TV to the province to provide information more efficiently to his people.

Powi planned to telecast live provincial assembly meetings to people in the districts after rumours of assembly members adding and eliminating discussed agendas that had caused confusion, often due to wrong information fed to the people.

Powi said Click TV provided 24  channels and people would enjoy a variety of new and improved channels in their households, especially in the remote parts of the province.

“Whatever agenda discussed here (provincial assembly meeting) does not reach the people as discussed, the facts said are omitted or added and people then started to gossip and say negative things,” he said.

Powi said media was a powerful tool in providing information to general public and introducing Click TV in the province was of paramount importance.

“The province is at peace unlike previous years and I am thankful with the police for doing a well done job after the modernisation programme was launched and police equipped with logistic support and manpower,” he said.

Powi said services reached people easily when the province was at peace and two main tribal fighting zones in Kagua and Poroma had been equipped with houses, vehicles and manpower.
