NATIONAL Capital District Governor Powes Parkop has a special Christmas gift for the people of Manus – lights to brighten up celebrations.
Parkop, a native of Manus, said some of the provinces outside Port Moresby did not get the chance to enjoy such things to brighten up Christmas.
“They only read about it in the papers and see it on television,” Parkop said.
“They do not get to see it with their own eyes.”
Parkop will pay for the special Christmas lighting that will be transported there and set up before Christmas.
Private contractor Donald Joe will be in charge of the setting up of the lights that are being packed to be shipped to the island.
Joe and his workers will be in Manus this month to set up the Christmas lights.
