WEST New Britain governor Sasindran Muthuvel has urged people to have a vision and purpose in life.
During the Independence anniversary celebrations in Kimbe town, he said people were classed into three groups – those who made changes happen, those who waited for changes to happen and those who sat back and wondered what happened.
The crowd gathered at 7am at Morokea to witness the 1km march by soldiers into Kimbe.
The celebrations held at Independence Park included a guard of honour, drills display by soldiers, performances by choirs and singsing groups.
Muthuvel said with vision one must work hard, overcome struggles to make changes happen for the better.
He said prosperity only came through struggles and hard work and everyone must work.
