THE West New Britain Governor’s Cup was officially closed on Sunday after the official presentation to the cup champions at the Independence Park in Kimbe.

Speaking during the closing Governor Sasindran Muthuvel thanked all participants for the sportsmanship displayed over the two weeks.

Muthuvel thanked the administration for supporting the games and announced that the names which was originally proposed as the ‘Muthuvel Cup’ has now been officially changed to ‘Governors Cup’ to maintain continuity.

Muthuvel announced that next year’s Governor’s cup will be played in another Local Level Government (LLG) to promote equal opportunities for other LLG’s to host the games and more importantly to encourage more teams from outer LLG’s in the province to participate in the tournament.
