Christian radio station Wantok Radio Light has received K10,000 to help its rural roll-out programme across the country.

Communication and Information Minister Jimmy Miringtoro pledged the funding support last year during the launching of the radio service in Pangia, Southern Highlands.

A cheque for that amount was presented on Tuesday to station deputy chairman Fred Tulia.

“You have done extremely well and I commend you for what you have done so far, particularly in Southern Highlands, and in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville,” Miringtoro said.

“I hope that you will extend your services to other parts of Papua New Guinea.”
