Govt doing better with reforms

Letters

THE people of Papua New Guinea watched helplessly as the leaders on both sides were at logger-head in quest for power.
In this tussle for power, the people were involved too.
But most importantly, the people now want a responsible government who corrects the past mistakes and provides clear direction for current and future generations.
In just 18 months, the Government has done a good number of reforms.
For example, amending Mining Act/Oil & Gas Act to retain benefits belonging to resource owners and passing of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act are good policy decisions undertaken so far.
Even though the previous government built a lot of infrastructures throughout the nation and in particular the nation’s capital, people still lived under constant pressure from a dictatorial type of leadership.
Ill treatment by law enforcement agencies and the courts to favour the government of the day then was rife and stressful. Nature differentiates the good from bad and the beneficial from the unwanted.
Nature’s selection is best, so MPs should dwell in consciousness to realise what is best for the people of this country.
It is time to separate the sheep from the goat.
