Govt failing people

Letters

THE Government has failed PNG by not seriously addressing the Covid-19 cases.
This can be proven by the sudden increase in cases from 8 to 65 and then 110.
That number should have been contained in the initial stage with the K5.7 billion coronavirus economic stimulus package announced by the Government.
Where is that K600 million?
That money should have been used to contain this surge in cases.
The controller and Health Department should be blamed.
Because they have no money, they are calling for a shutdown, giving ordinary citizens an even bigger headache.
We, as citizens, are wondering why the Chinese tycoon who flew into PNG a few months ago was not quarantined?
This can be seen as recklessly managing the affairs of this country alluding to increase in cases.
We are also aware that our donor partner countries have contributed millions in cash and equipment but there’s nothing to show on the ground.
What happened to all that money?
Where was it all squandered?
Lastly, before we see hundreds or even thousands of people die as a result of the Covid-19, can Prime Minister James Marape step aside and let someone in your cabinet run the affairs of this nation?
This country belongs to 8 million-plus people and not one person.
