Govt has let people down

Letters, Normal

I REFER to the letter “PNG must upgrade its health services” by Dr Chamilou S Posanau (Sept 22). His comments are spot on.
Recent outbreaks and the declining health-related activities in the country reflect the poor attention given to the health sector.
Politicians and bureaucrats must be taken to task for letting the citizens of PNG down.
We demand access to basic services and the convenient excuse of no money is no longer acceptable.
For those of you who have been following the opinion poll conducted by The National, although the sample size is small, it does give out signals.
This week’s issue – “Did the Government react quickly to control the outbreaks of flu, dysentery and cholera?” – clearly gives a big “NO” to the Government (see poll).
Indications are clear that health services are not being given serious attention by the Government.
