Govt official hosts games

KINJIBI Mala local-level government president Rodney Rot Kur brought excitement to his Prandka community in Western Highlands by sponsoring a sports programme there.
The volleyball and basketball grand finals were held at Waigani village, near Three Kona, on Sunday.
Rombanga ward member Kur used his discretionary funds of about K2,000 to sponsor the programme.
“The programme brought members of our community together to enjoy themselves in a fun, friendly manner,” he said.
“Students enjoyed the holiday and youths showcased their skills.
“It was also an opportunity for women to earn some money through the sale of their garden produce.”
Kur congratulated the eight grand finalists from the 20 teams that took part in the programme.
He presented cash prizes to all the teams and officials who took part in the initiative.
