Govt should assist in bid

Letters

THE Government should put all its efforts in helping the PNG Rugby League Bid for an NRL spot in 2022 together with Brisbane’s other new team.
On May 31, 2020, the Australian Rugby League (ARL) Commission announced that two new teams will be joining NRL’s existing 16 teams making the number of teams to 18 in 2022.
Our Government should start the process by allocating K100 million towards the process of winning the bid.
If our Kumuls can beat Great Britain, the team that beat them should be recruited to form the nucleus of PNG’s new NRL side.
Our new NRL side should recruit other young up and coming rugby league players from other Pacific Island countries as well.
