Grade 10s sit for first exam

National

MORE than 74,000 grade 10 students nationwide have been confirmed to sit for their written expression examination today, Education secretary Dr Uke Kombra says.
He said the examination papers were delivered to 415 high and secondary schools in all the provinces according to the nomination data received by the Measurement Services Division (MSU) in Port Moresby.
Kombra urged all students, teachers and provinces to give their best and ensure that the exams were done fairly and to the best of their God-given ability.
“I call on all the citizens of Papua New Guinea to support and abide by the fair administration of exams,” he said.
Kombra said all schools should have their registration documents fixed with the school registration committee of the department as it would allow them to sit for the examinations and warned schools against cheating.
The warning included non-certification for students, termination for teachers and banning schools involved for a minimum period of three years.
“Results are based on hard work, and offers better education benchmarks,” Kombra said.
“I wish all the grade 10 students (74,760) best of luck in their first national examination for 2022.”
