Grand Chief’s legacy lives on

Letters

THE scale of grief and sorrow during the passing of Grand Chief Sir Michael Thomas Somare was immense and immeasurable.
The spirit of unity during this period of mourning speaks of something we should not take for granted.
Sir Michael’s death touched every citizen’s heart.
His death united us because of his character and what he had done for this nation.
I can say that Sir Michael’s funeral was the largest in the Pacific region.
It will go down in our history books.
If we look up to such leaders as our role model, this nation can produce more good citizens and leaders such as Sir Michael.
The name “Somare” is synonymous to Independence and will never be forgotten easily.
Conduct more research into Sir Michael’s unique personalities and draft them into educational institutions and make them become guidelines for our children to follow.
