Grand final replay as Muruks take on Lahanis in Goroka

THE replay of last year’s intercity cup grand final will be watched live at the National Sports Institute in Goroka when Bintangor Lahanis host SBS Muruks for the round two of the Digicel Cup challenge.
Lahanis defeated Muruks to take out the  bemobile Cup before a packed crowd of supporter in Lae.
Both sides will field their best possible sides and are equal on the point ladder with a win each under their belts from the opening rounds last week.
They will be out to prove their supremacy, with the Goroka lads having the home turf advantage.
Lahanis outclassed Agmark Gurias 22-6 in Goroka while Muruks narrowly defeated Lae archrivals Lae Snax Tigers 21-20.
Kumuls duo Charlie Wabo and Joseph Omae are expected to lead Muruks onslaughtwith back up from Roy Kela, Wer Mark and Jackson Undi in the pack.
Lahanis coach Peter Danga will expect nothing less than a win at home over the Muruks.
He will bank on forwards led by skipper Glen Nami and including Elvis Dick, Nicko Ubile, Gonzela Urakusie, Yapa Kapu, Tony Dai and Jackol Huako.
Electrifying halfback Walter Hasu and five-eighth Joseph Peter will call the plays to get the backline into the Muruks territory.
Explosive Lahanis centres Chris Hogi and Thompson Tete are ones to watch including flankers Spiro Mikaive and Minaho Goso.
Since Lahanis franchise owner Simon Sia made the NSI become the new home of the Lahanis, it has become the burial ground for the visiting teams.
Lahanis fans in Goroka town are gearing up to flock into the NSI on Sunday to watch a quality match between two teams littered withKumuls.
The duel between both backlines with Muruks holding an edge in experience over the Lahanis young stars.
