Grant to link roads

THE Trans-National Highway will eventually link up Port Moresby with the rest of the country, it was announced yesterday.
Australian minister for international development and the Pacific senator Zed Seselja, who is in country, formally opened parts of the Australian-funded Angau Hospital redevelopment after the announcement.
Seselja said Australia and Papua New Guinea had shared interests, and Australia was here to work with PNG to address economic, health and infrastructure challenges.
Part of that development will come from the K26mil grant he announced for project preparation.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop representing Prime Minister James Marape echoed the nation’s sincere appreciation to the Australian government for rendering their assistance in:

  • PREVENTING the spread of the Covid-19;
  • SUPPORTING economic recovery; and,
  • WORKING with the PNG Government to better connect the country through infrastructure investment.
