THE Sengihumun Women’s Group of Kumbuhun village, in West Yangoru, has affiliated to the East Sepik Provincial Council of Women.
Their affiliation to the provincial body last week paves way for mothers and girls to participate in any spin off benefits from impact projects initiated by their national MP, Ricahrd Maru, and LLG president Manuel Ganai in their LLG area.
Members of the group paid their K10 per head membership fee to West Yangoru LLG manager Gideon Kaivi.
Chairperson of the group Christina Numalik said the group’s next move was to register with the Investment Promotion Authority so that they qualified to obtain loans from banks to venture into Small Medium Enterprises business activities.
The idea to mobilise the mothers and girls of Kumbuhun was initiated by Alexander Mining Landowner Company treasurer Titus Numalik.
