A GROUP of 58 aspiring local entrepreneurs graduated last Friday after attending a week-long under the small to medium enterprises access to funding training.
The training was supported by the Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry, Tonorama and World Bank.
It was brought to the province by provincial commerce adviser Fred Waluka.
The training aimed to boost SME growth as an implementation strategy for the recently-passed SME policy and master plan.
Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry acting assistant secretary SME branch Buckley Tine said the training was to “boost mall to medium enterprises growth and thus foster employment creation for Papua New Guineans”
“It is one of the keys in achieving the overall objective of the Government’s medium-term development plan to spur economic growth and improve the living standard of our people,” Tine said.
