Group grateful for support during tour

A LOCAL advocacy group has thanked partners and stakeholders who have been working against gender-based violence.
DJ Travy and Alternatives is based in Port Moresby and was formed in 2013 to address gender-based violence in schools and communities.
The first project was funded by the Mineral Resources Authority in 2014 – the GBV school advocacy programme.
The group partnered with the Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council (CIMC) under the Family and Violence Action Committee.
The project visited four schools – DBTI, Pom Grammar, Paradise International School and POM National High School. In early 2016, the group took part in the Walk for Life Programme initiated by National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop.
The most recent partnership was with the PNG Football Association Just Play programme where they performed during the grand final match last December.
