The Oxford Business Group has launched the fourth edition of its report covering Papua New Guinea’s development.

Papua New Guinea 2015 covers a detailed assessment of the country’s macroeconomics.

It gives an insight into developments in other sectors including mining and agriculture.

Country director Ivana Carapic said the reports were often the source for emerging markets especially in Asia.

“We have been present here (in PNG) since 2012 in partnership with the Investment Promotion Authority,” Carapic said.

“They have been our primary partners and we are satisfied with the cooperation which we are going to continue.”

Papua New Guinea Chamber of Commerce and Industry president John Leahy said the publication’s assessments were unique.

He said it provided a depth of quality in terms of editorial content, accuracy and balance.

“We often provide the report as a starting point for people to get an understanding about Papua New Guinea,” Leahy said.

He said information in the report showed that businesses can be done in PNG.

“It provides accurate technical information and insights from the people actually practicing business here.

“It shows business can be done in Papua New Guinea.”
