A NON-government organisation held a leadership programme session with new intakes during the University of Papua New Guinea’s orientation programme last week.

The Voice Inc showcased the kind of work it does with young people at the university through its leadership programmes and held a panel session with the organisation’s alumni.

The Voice Inc is a youth development organisation based in PNG that runs leadership programmes with students in schools and universities.

The programmes aim at building a sense of purpose in students’ lives, increase their confidence and create avenues for them to contribute to their communities through projects.

The session allowed the organisation’s alumni to speak about the benefits of the voice leadership programme and share their experiences with it as well as encouraging students to be involved.

The Voice Inc is now accepting applications for the 2014 leadership development programme.

LDP is run through the Centre for Leadership at the UPNG and another to be established at the PNG University of Technology (Unitech).

Applications for the programme are open to all first year students at UPNG in Port Moresby and Unitech in Lae.
