Group urges positive thinking

 NATIONAL Youth Commission director general Norit Luio says there is a purpose in life for everyone.

People need not live a meagre life made even more miserable by negative thoughts, he said.

Instead, meaningful lives for youths can be built when they realise their potential, Luio said.

He urged youths to organise and liaise with respective community development officers in districts to identify their needs and seek technical support from the National Youth Development Authority.

Luio said the youth commission did not receive any direct funding to implement youth development activities in provinces and districts.

But the NYDA is keen to mobilise and create youth networks in partnership and provide technical skills.

Youth associations in districts are affiliated to NYDA that ensures youth presidents represent the groups in all district meetings.  

“The government should fund youth activities through its provincial and district developmental grants,” Luio said.
