FEMALE prisoners at Bihute jail outside Goroka town, Eastern Highlands, had visitors from the Goroka Youth Anti-Crime who discussed issues that could help their rehabilitation.
Goroka Youth Anti-Crime president Tommy Tom Froggie expressed relief that his small organisation was contributing to helping to rehabilitate female prisoners.
Froggie said they visited the prisoners every Christmas.
“We are committed to bringing some messages of relief to discuss issues of common concerns surrounding and affecting their lives and what caused them to be in jail,” Froggie said.
He said they discussed and shared with them God’s words in finding solutions to marriage problems, family welfare concerns, gender sensitivity, family life, personal and family hygiene and how they could become God-fearing citizens after their life in prison.
Two Okuk sisters – Sophia and Ruddy – members of the Youth Anti-Crime, accompanied Froggie to the prison.
