THE Gulf provincial government is organising landowner public forums amongst Ihu, Baimuru and Pawea villagers.
The forums are related to the InterOil led liquefied natural gas (LNG) project and the Gulf provincial government’s own projects such as the Deep Water Port development, Industrial Park, among others.
Acting provincial administrator Simon Peter said on Wednesday that the forum scheduled from Feb 15 to 26 aimed to:
* Conduct awareness amongst the people about the projects;
* Identify the total number of incorporated land groups (ILGs);
* Assist with the registration of unregistered ILGs; and
* Facilitate the forming/establishment of an umbrella association and umbrella business groups in the three project impacted areas.
The forum followed a request made to Gulf Governor Havila Kavo last Christmas by people from Ihu, Baimuru and Pawaea.
