Gulf leaders not keeping their promises

Letters

ALL our Gulf leaders are making empty promises to their people.
I have lived on this planet for 23 years and not even a governor or MP has done his duty in bringing services to the districts.
We have Gulf leaders in the hausman who represent other people.
Gulf leaders are experts in making empty promises; they think we are their girlfriends so their words can be broken at any time.
I only see their faces when they are in the province to campaign.
Once political power is gained, they hide their faces in the pigeon hole and only their eyes watch what surrounds them.
How can a leader who has been in parliament for 20 years talk about putting a 13-storey building in the province and yet nothing happens.
Now, he is talking about putting secondary schools in places where there is not even a high school or primary school.
What a shame, we are not your fools – stop lying to us.
All leaders (except Kikori MP Soroi Eoe) have turned away after the 2017 election.
They serve their families and grow their businesses, providing no opportunities for the citizens.
We, the voters, will now watch carefully for those leaders who left us with empty bags.
There is no united Gulf and fair decision making to run the province.
People are disadvantaged by the services that are not delivered.
School fee is the worst problem students and parents face.
Governor Chris Haiveta and Kerema MP Richard Mendani are not working together in subsidising tuition fees.
The least we get from the Kerema MP is K3,000 for all colleges and universities.
This year is election eve and no Gulf leader should do last minute work.
We should get in new leaders who have masters and degrees in leadership and not those who have masters and degrees in their professions.
Being a leader is different from holding a job.

  • A person campaigns and promise that when they become politician they will do so and so but i tell you politicians are limited to the funds that is available and as such once you hear a politician or someone campaigning and says he will build so and so and do this and that, do not believe him cause his words are nothing, unless he knows how to get money from donor support apart from the funds earmarked for the electorate, but those who talk about changing legislation to bring goods and services to the people are the true leaders.
