Evara village, located within the PRL15 Papua LNG project area of Gulf, had a reason to celebrate on February 26 with the construction of a new aid post thanks to Digicel Foundation, Total E&P PNG Limited, the Gulf government and people.
Total E&P PNG Limited managing director Jean-Marc Noiray commended Digicel Foundation and its extensive work in the country on community outreach projects.
“We are committed to our vision as partners with Digicel Foundation, Gulf government and of course, the people living within and outside the project area of influence at Evara village.” Noiray said.
Digicel Foundation CEO Serena Sasingian said she was happy to work with communities and Total E&P PNG Limited to bring such infrastructure into the community.
In 2017, Digicel Foundation conducted an assessment in the Evara area and initiated the project however, given the geographical isolation and the absence of roads, Total E&P PNG Limited was able to assist by transporting building materials within their logistics capacity.
The inauguration opening of Evara Village aid post and sanitation facility is the third project completed by Total E&P PNG Limited in partnership with Digicel Foundation, the Gulf government and the people of Evara within the PRL 15 project area of influence.
