OPPOSITION MP Lucas Dekena has called on the government to provide a report on the K10 million Gerehu B3 public servants housing scheme.
Dekena, the opposition spokesman on housing and development, told parliament the government also needed to table a report on the K5 million property management system that had never being accounted for since 2009.
Dekena said that in 2009, the government approved K10 million to build 80 houses with three contractors engaged for the project.
They were Wari Vele contractors, Kwajp contractors and Tawap Kamen investment. They were to build the 80 houses within two years as required by the old board of then minister Andrew Kumbakor.
He said they were fully paid even though they had not completed the required houses.
The new board went ahead to appoint another contractor, Niugini Builders for the same contract.
Dekena  said  the old board also paid K5 million to a consultancy firm to establish the property management systems.
Dekena called on the government to report on the funds and how different contractors were engaged and the status of the housing project.
He said the manner in which the project was awarded and the money was used had not complied with the Public Finance Management Act.
He told parliament there were irregularities on the two projects.
Housing and Development Minister Paul Isikiel promised to deliver a report into the public servants housing scheme.
