Gumine submits counter-funding for programme

GUMINE in Chimbu is the second district in the province to provide K70,000 in counter-part funding towards World Bank’s Rural Services Improvement Programme (RSIP).
Provincial advisor Steven Show said: “I thank Gumine MP Nick Kuman and his DDA (district development authority) for the counter-part funding to complement the World Bank K1 million funding to focus on Gumine’s Kumai-Bomai local council ward”.
Show said Chuave was the first in the province to get behind the programme.
He said Kerowagi’s counterpart funding was for Gena-Waugla LLG was ready.
Show said the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs sourced funding support from the World Bank and co-funded by selected districts to improve services delivery at ward level.
“In Chimbu province four LLGs identified to benefit from this RSIP are Gena-Waugla LLG in Kerowagi district, Siane LLG in Chuave, Suai LLG in SinaSina-Yongumugl, Kumai-Bomai in Gumine district,” he said.
He said Chimbu was fortunate to benefit in this five-year RSIP.
