Gurias name squad for bemobile Cup

REIGNING champions NGIP Agmark Gurias have selected the final 25-man squad for this year’s bemobile Cup with the inclusion of new recruits from other centres.
They are PNG Kumuls hitman Sigfried Gande, Kevin Frank, Matthew Puke and Scot Tepra, making up the final squad.
The selectors have also recalled the services of former PNG Pukpuks representatives Jeffery Vineval and Channel Aquila.
The final squad was selected over the weekend after the second trial match for the Possibles and Probables at the Kalabond oval on Saturday.
School boys Ase Boas and Wartovo Puaria have been slotted into the NGI franchise team making the franchise team a mixture of experience and young guns.
“After the final trial game at the Kalabond field we now have the final squad of 25 players selected to participate in this year’s bemobile Cup competition,” Gurias head of coaching Michael Marum said.
Marum said all the players in the squad would undergo medical checks this afternoon at the Kalabond field.
“The players will be auctioned on Friday at Ralum club before the first game against Bingtangor Goroka Lahanis. Companies that want to come on board as sponsors for the players are asked to come along and show their support,” Marum added.
Gurias will be coached by former Gurias player Oscar Tonga, while Apelis Welia and Jessie Alunga are being appointed as trainers.
The squad: Ricky Sibiya, Dion Aiye, Boas Ruru, Chris Jerry, Rodney Pora, David Misiel, Scot Tepra, Rolly Matalau, Kot Kerowa, Sakias Kabange, Vinevel, Mathew Puke, George Moni, Ase Boas, Wartovo Puaria, Romalus Mago, Frank, Aquila, Albert Patak, Pidik Tongap, Emmanuel John, Sidney Fox, Gande, Joe Bruno and Sam Ponda.
