THE Kalabond ‘graveyard’ reputation will be put to the test this week.

The Kemele Hela Wigmen finding some good form of late will put to the Agmark Gurias pose another big threat to the home side in a bumper clash on Sunday.

With the Gurias going down to the Port Moresby Vipers at home last week, their home-ground advantage is shaky.

The Wigmen under coach Stanley Hondina are the dark horses of the competition. They have played to a consistent level proving they can now be considered as contenders.

The Gurias are always strong at home, despite adjusting to having a new coach mid-season, and this along with having one of the most naturally gifted line-ups should put them in good stead.

The Wigmen are heading to the Kokopo with intent and will serve another killer blow unless the Gurias find a way to re-ignite the dormant ‘volcano’.

Wigmen veteran Charlie Wabo who is still showing his younger counterparts a thing or two  around the rucks will be playing a strong role for their yard gainers in George Moni, Ben Hetra, Felix Tangue, Andrew Ipi, Michael Mapu and Joseph Omai. Wigmen halves in rising young talent William Mone and Kewa Kili will dictate terms if the Gurias are not careful.

This will test Gurias skipper Travis Waninara who has a huge job on his hands to rekindle that lost fire in his team. In the other matches, the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis will welcome the return to the National Sports Institute to pour on the points against the Wamp Nga Mt Hagen Eagles and at the Dickson Oval in Kundiawa, the Prima/Dekenai Gulf Isapea are staring down the barrel of a season ender against the TNA Simbu Lions.
