Gurias out to shake up Goroka

Sports

THE Agmark Gurias take on the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis at the National Sports Institute on Sunday in what will be the unbeaten East New Britain side’s biggest test so far in the Digicel Cup.
The Round 8 fixture sees the in-form Gurias looking to claim their eighth win against the defending champions on their home ground.
The Gurias are coming off a scrappy 18-10 win over the Enga Mioks while the Tigers were held to a 22-22 draw by the Lahanis.
The Gurias have to contend with the absence of dynamic fullback Terry Wapi, who was called up to the SP Hunters during the week, but have quality and pace across their backline in John Ragi Jr, Eliam Lukara and William Akuila.
The Lahanis will look to build on their last three games where they managed a win and two draws.
Led by veteran prop Gonzella Urakusie, the Lahanis will have their hands full with the visitors welcoming back dummy-half Jimmy Peter, who will complement Brian Gispe’s in the hooking role behind a mobile pack.
The Eastern Highlanders have their own entertainers in Jah Hogen, Norman Brown and Sefa Dait setting up a potential thriller.
Fixtures: Rd 8 – Sun, May 26: Lae Tigers v Central Dabaris, Hagen Eagles v Hela Wigmen, Enga Mioks v Waghi Tumbe, Kimbe Cutters v Mendi Muruks.
