Hagen villagers receive gear for building homes
The National, Wednesday February 25th, 2015
MEMBERS of an association in Mt Hagen have been given three sets of sawmills, a truck and saws last Saturday.
The Panael Community Development Association bought the sawmills, saws and truck for K400,000.
Mt Hagen MP William Duma had given K1 million to the association for such development projects.
The association belongs to the people from the Pangemp, Nambaka and Eltimb clans.
Chairman Steven Puri, deputy Willie Tep and secretary Michael Wamp bought the equipment to help members build homes.
Puri said the funding was meant to help the people and that is why they had bought the equipment.
“Living in permanent homes will change the mindsets of people and this will attract development.”
Puri thanked Duma for the support and said the association would continue to support its members.
