Haiveta rubbishes social media claims about Gulf top job

Gulf Governor Chris Haiveta says Marc Avai Orisuru is the provincial administrator and he has not been replaced.
Haiveta told The National that Orisuru had a contract with the provincial government and that any action to change that should comply with his contract conditions and relevant laws.
“At this moment in time, no action has been taken to suspend or replace the administrator,” Haiveta said, brushing aside social media speculation about acting administrator James Hasu being made the administrator.
Haiveta clarified that Hasu was only acting administrator in the absence of Orisuru from the province.
“Orisuru is accompanying me to negotiate the Papua LNG Gas project,” the governor said.
“So while we are in Port Moresby, Hasu will be acting in his place. But no one has been sidelined.”
He said that the provincial government remained intact and united and keen to negotiate the terms as per policy and Oil and Gas Act.
