THE Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) office in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands, has received a new bus from the provincial government because of its hard work.

The provincial government decided to support the work of IRC because millions of kina had been collected in revenue for the province.

Melpa Properties Chairman Wilson Wingti presented the vehicle to IRC Highlands regional manager Mickey Akai this week.

Wingti described IRC as one of the major government bodies, which  made millions of kina through collecting tax.

He said the provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Pais Wingti, has seen that the IRC needs support so it can work hard and help the province in terms of revenue.

Wingti said IRC has been working hard and has made a lot of money in internal revenue for the province since last year and this year.

“This is the revenue that is helping the provincial government and I’m pleased to handover this vehicle to Akai and his staff,” he said.

“We all need each other and work together for the good of the province and the people.

“I commend IRC for its contributions in the province and what the provincial government is doing here is to help you continue with what you are doing.”

“You have to spent money to make money and what you are doing here is not a waste but will help this office to improve and do all it can to boost the province income.”
