Hawks and landowners

Letters

TO the landowners of the areas within the Alotau district, there is a hawk flying over and above Alotau searching for a chick and once it is spotted it will be grabbed and swallowed.
Sound the warning to the villagers of the Waema village ward, due to poor literacy among the local people and the lack of awareness on legal rights, the people and the communities have been denied long-term development and progress.
The hawk and their business partners are out to land-grab and suppress the people and their future generations, pushing our people further into poverty as is being seen and experienced in other Third World countries.
Your land is wealthier in value than cash. It is a God-given right.
Do not abuse and give or sell away God’s great gift to you, through cheap bribes and dirty corrupt deals now common nationwide.
There are 1000 ways to skin a cat, as the saying goes. How about looking into farming and livestock? Look into small businesses where you work your land for better benefits rather than deal with crooks who end up making you bystanders and onlookers on your own land.
Seek knowledge and wisdom as your future generations’ wealth and stability are in your hands.
A warning to the good people of Waema village community ward, please be alert and listen.
