THE interim chairman of Highlands Highway rehabilitation programme in the Southern Highlands section is supporting Works and Implementation Minister Francis Awesa’s move to continue with two major road projects costing more than K1 billion.

Joe Korowe said the two roads were the K800 million Lae-Nadzab super highway and the K399 million Togoba (Western Highlands)-Kisenopoi road (Southern Highlands).

The Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has given direction for an independent team to assess the costing.

Korowe said he supported Awesa’s initiative to move forward with the two projects.

He said road was the bottom line service provider for most small scale business activities to succeed.
