Head-on road collision claims two more lives

 TWO men died instantly in a fatal road incident near Kiunga town, Western, last Friday night.

Provincial police commander  Silva Sika said two vehicles collided head-on, causing the death of both drivers.

“Both drivers were under the influence of alcohol, one is a prominent leader in the province and the other driver isfrom Southern Highlands,” Sika said.

“Nearby residents who witnessed the incident assisted in transporting the bodies to the hospital. The bodies are now in the morgue.” Sika said the wife and two children of the leader were in the vehicle during the accident and sustained minor injuries.

Another passenger escaped before police arrived, he said.  

Sika called on witnesses to come forward and assist police in their investigation.
