THE board of Simbu health authority (CPHA) has appointed Dr Francis Wandi as chief executive officer of the provincial health authority (PHA).
Dr Wandi’s appointment, made on June 5, will take effect on June 22. He replaces Dr Guapo Kiagi who was acting in the position since the PHA was established in last November.
Board chairman Robert Nilkare said all stakeholders were fully aware of the process that the board had taken in recruiting a CEO since the authority was established.
He said the board completed the process from its end and this was done in compliance to the necessary provisions and requirements and in maintaining transparency for the public office.
Representatives from the Health department and Department of Personnel Management were present in the board meeting (board meeting No.4 of 2020) where the CEO was appointed. Kiagi would remain in the office until his appointment lapses on June 21.
