Health authority finding ways to lift efficiency

Southern Highlands Provincial Health Authority has tapped into reliable ways of running its health affairs in the province.
Chief executive officer Dr Joseph Birisi said on Friday in Mendi that his provincial health authority would like to use information technology to run its health sector efficiently.
“It will improve on our clinics, standards and accreditation, transport, human resource and finance,” he said.
“Hospital management information system is one other thing that the Health Department is working on.”
The Hospital management information system is vital to keep all records, data and assets registry.
While the hospital is awaiting more of the work on information technology-related work, Birisi thanked Mendi-Munihu MP Michael Nali and Oil Search Foundation for relieving the hospital with hospital equipment costing more than K3 million.
