KEREVAT Health Centre in the Gazelle district of East New Britain has received medical equipment to boost its operations.
Jelta Wong of Customs and Management Services, along with other benefactors, delivered the equipment to the health centre last week.
Wong said the equipment included a delivery bed and dental tools.
He said Tropic Frond’s Dennis Hill had paid for freight and Customs and Management Services cleared the equipment and delivered the cargo for free.
Wong said the equipment had been procured by Shawn Hughes, a biomedical engineer at Royal Brisbane Hospital in Australia.
According to Wong, Hughes’s wife Jin grew up in Rabaul and Kokopo.
She attended Rabaul International School in and is now a doctor in Brisbane.
Her parents own Jing Marc, a tailoring business at Takubar.
Wong said Hughes had mentioned that he had plans of visiting Kerevat health centre to repair any gear that needed fixing.
