THE community health post concept and the mobile clinic initiative in West New Britain are set to be an ideal solution to providing basic health service to the less fortunate and people living with disability (PLWD).

Acting director of rural health Dennis Parisen said the second key area of the health priorities was the need for accessible basic health services.

He appealed to parents to be mindful of drug consumption to avoid giving birth to disabled children.

“Many of the unfortunate children are deprived of formal education due to their lack physical completion,” he said.

It is understood that the provincial division of education has plans to establish inclusive education for  normal children and those living with disability to work with each other and learn in a discrimination-free environment.

Education advisor Melchoir Babo also appealed to parents to register their children living with disability with the Department of Education to ensure they are recorded for a formal education.

He also appealed to Grade 12 leavers to apply for training as educators for children with disability.
