Health project starts

 ISLANDS Petroleum’s Katim Na Halivim Pikini medical project started yesterday at St Mary’s Vunapope Hospital in Kokopo, East New Britain.
A team of five doctors and surgeons arrived in Kokopo yesterday in preparation.
The visiting team for this year includes senior urologist and founder of Kind Cuts for Kids in Melbourne Prof Paddy, a senior radiographer from Melbourne Emma Miley, PNG’s senior paediatric surgeon and deputy chief surgeon Dr Mathew McLee from Angau Hospital, Port Moresby senior anaesthetist Dr Harry Aigeeleng and trainee anaesthetist from Angau, Dr Dan Aisi.
About 30 children are confirmed for surgeries.
The team will travel to Lae next week under the Lae Rotary Club sponsorship for four major cases.
