Health workers in the dark

Letters

THE Papua New Guinea Health Support Workers’ Association (HSWA) has been dormant since the failed strike over the back-payment of allowances in 2017.
About 1.5 per cent of the gross salary of members is deducted every fortnight to the association. The late Jack Suao was very vocal through the media and led a successful strike but now I can hardly see any publicity of the HSWA.
We were advised by the executives before our plan strike in 2017 to wait for the Department of Personnel Management, the Health Department and the association to come up with an agreement.
We have been waiting for an update from our executives for two years. As an association member, I appeal to our executives to kindly update us on your work.
