Komeng warns his team not to take wounded City lightly

HEKARI United will be determined to cement a top-two spot when they face third-placed Port Moresby City in round eight of the Women’s National Soccer League at Papua New Guinea Football Stadium in the nation’s capital tomorrow (3pm kick-off).
With five points separating the sides, Hekari will count on skipper Marie Kaipu, Sonia Embahe, Georgina Kaikas and Bertha Yapi to get the second-placed side on the front foot from the get-go.
City, boasting seasoned goalkeepers Fidelma Watpore and Roxanne Komeng, will be expecting forward Gloria Laeli and Fatima Rama to make the most of their scoring opportunities against the best attacking side in the Southern Conference.
Hekari coach Eric Komeng said he was expecting a solid response from City after Frederica Sakette’s side lost 1-5 to conference leaders Genesis last weekend. Fixtures: Sat, Feb 13 — Port Moresby Academy v National Capital District, Amoana v Genesis, Hekari United v Port Moresby City, Bara v Morobe Tulip, Markham Raings v Tusbab Laidamon, Rainy Lae v Sepik, Pacific Gardens v Poro.
