HEKARI United are set to play a friendly match against FC Radazz at the Kalabond Oval in Kokopo, East New Britain, on Saturday.
The former PNG and Oceania champions will be using the match as part of preparations for the National Premier League season which starts in November.
Hekari coach Erickson Komeng said they were treating the match seriously.
“Radazz are made up of the PNG Games gold medal-winning team, so we are surely in for a big challenge,” he said.
“Though we have one of their players, Nathan James, with us, we are not going for an easy game.
“We are treating them with respect and will give our best.”
Komeng said he would field a strong side, including PNG captain David Muta, Kolu Kepo, Ati Kepo, Daniel Joe and Willie Gia.
Hekari will test Patrick Nota, Freddy Steven, Freddy Kepo, Shane Sakael, Nigel Yohang, Jack Renagi, Kila Vavine, Frank Taboroya and Ralai Jack.
Football Federation of Papua New Guinea’s New Guinea Islands coordinator Spencer Manhi said Radazz were looking forward to the challenge.
“Many of the players often read and see Hekari in the media, so it would be privilege to challenge them,” Manhi said.
