Hela budget receives praise from finance minister

Highlands

Tari-Pori MP and Finance and Rural Development Minister James Marape expressed his satisfaction with the Hela budget tabled by Governor Philip Undialu in the provincial assembly in Tari yesterday.
The budget looks at an internal revenue projection of K325,765,288 and Government functional grants of K148,859,500.
The budget was fair on all development sectors and all corners of the province receiving their fair share of funding, Marape said.
Marape commended Undialu for his fair distribution, which he described as bridging the political and personal differences prevalent in Hela.
“This is Undialu’s first budget for Hela and to see for the first time in my 10 years in parliament, my provincial budget that is borne out of consultations and fair equitable distribution of development funds, is highly commendable,” Marape said.
