Hela secure insurance for trials

LAST year’s Digicel Cup grand finalists Hela Wigmen have secured insurance sponsorship ahead of their trip to Australia for this weekend’s pre-season trials against Intrust Super Cup sides Wynnum Manly and Norths Devils.
Southern Cross Assurance Limited chairman said Roxon Undi said the insurance would cover the Wigmen through their stay in Australia and Fiji.
“The players and team officials were unable to get Australian visas unless an insurance policy was in place to cover them,” he said.
“Therefore, this sponsorship covers the players and officials travelling to Fiji to play the Kaiviti Silktails in the curtain-raiser to the Melanesian Cup.”
Digicel Cup champions Lae Tigers will contest the Melanesian Cup with Fiji’s Ravoravo Rabbitohs next Saturday.
Undi handed over the certificate of currency to confirm the placement of the personal accident and hospitalisation insurance policy to Hela Wigmen president Andy Hetra.
“This is not the first time we have come on board to assist and partner the Wigmen,” Undi said.
He said they had been sponsoring the team for many young men to take part and keep themselves occupied. Under the banner of Kana Construction Limited, we are one of the inaugural sponsors of the Wigmen when they first joined the Digicel Cup.”
Undi said the company would continue to partner the Wigmen in the years to come.
