Hela, SHP students arrive in Mendi

HELA and Southern Highlands students attending the University of Goroka have arrived back home following the suspension of classes.
Around 60 of them arrived in two buses at the Mendi police station while 350 more were to arrive later yesterday.
University of Goroka executive director of Business Studies and head of Flexible Learning Kensol Rui confirmed that all students were leaving Goroka yesterday afternoon.
Imbonggu MP Francis Awesa is expected in Southern Highlands today to arrange for the safe travel of students from Mendi to their various homes.
Southern Highlands disaster adviser Martin Pat advised the students to stay away from any illegal activities.
He addressed the students in front of the police station. He also appealed to the people of Hela and Southern Highlands not to take advantage of the issue at UOG to start  other problems.
A fight between university students from Highlands spilled into Goroka town on Tuesday.
It was the continuation of a fight last week between two groups from the highlands region.
