Main Stories

WOMEN from Hela living in Moresby South in the nation’s capital have formed an association to support underprivileged women through small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
The Hela Souths Women’s Association was launched last Saturday at Gabutu Corner.
Moresby South MP and Housing and Urban Development Minister Justin Tkatchenko, who had donated K10,000 earlier as seed capital, was present.
The association was registered with the Investment Promotion Authority last October.
Association secretary Grace Albert said they had about 70 women in the association who lived in the city.
She said though most came from the PNGLNG-impacted areas, they could not benefit from spin-off business activities due to gender inequality.

  • Why Hela women only and not including others in this Association. This sounds funny and something fishy going on there.I think few weeks later we will see big money will be flooded in to this account.
